WE Day Kentucky inspires youth to fulfill their potential as agents of change with resources that create sustainable impact, empowering young people to find their spark and to ignite their passion about social causes that are important to them in order to help make the world a better place. By focusing on education, leadership, and empowerment through service, we enable young people to become active engaged citizens and help them to graduate high school at higher rates, improve their leadership skills and improve their workforce readiness.  WE Day Kentucky is a fiscally-sponsored project of the Community Foundation of Louisville.

We are a youth focused nonprofit service learning organization. Our three platforms are:

  • WE Schools - A year-round free on-line service learning resource platform that helps students and teachers to select, activate and deliver service learning projects (local and global);
  • WE Families - An intentionally expanding and diverse community of service-minded families from all around Louisville to come together at regular intervals to take part in projects that help make a positive change in Louisville.
  • WE Day Community: Kentucky - A one day celebration that brings students and educators together with renowned leaders, performers and speakers to celebrate the completion of their service projects, and inspires them to continue their work in the year ahead. WE Day Kentucky's speakers and role models constructively and intentionally shine the spotlight on issues that young people care deeply about, including accessibility, homelessness, hunger, race and equity, bullying and the environment. You cannot buy a ticket to WE DAY, you earn it through service.

On April 16, 2019, 2400 students and educators from across Kentucky and Southern Indiana will come together at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts from 9:30-1:30 to celebrate their commitment to service.  They will be celebrated by renowned local and global inspirational speakers and performers, and they will hear from their peers - students from around the state who are making a difference in their local communities and beyond.
