HISTORY
Inspired by the movie, The Blind Side, 10-yr-old Jessica Collins was determined in December 2009 to provide a bed for someone who didn't have one, preferably a child. Working with the people in her church, not only did she provide one, but a place to sleep for 6 children. Driven by this success, she has expanded into Shelby and surrounding counties and is working with the local school systems to identify needs. The goal is to help as many children as possible when the needs arise and eventually be nationwide. Her program has provided beds for over 880 children as of 1/1/2016.

A_Place_to_Sleep_Fund

A Place to Sleep operates on the beliefs that:
1. A good night's sleep is important to a child's health.
2. A good night's sleep will help a child's concentration and improve school grades.
3. Having a bed of their own improves a child's self-esteem.
